Meet The Doctor

Dr. Sam B. Hishmeh is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with more than thirty-four years experience in the dental field and as an oral surgeon.He practices all the aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including placement of dental implants, dentoalveolar and third molar (wisdom teeth) surgery, treatment of facial trauma and facial reconstruction (orthognathic) surgery.

Dr. Hishmeh was born in Washington, D.C. and was raised in the Maryland suburbs where he resides with his wife, Mary, whom he married in 1977.Dr. Hishmeh received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1978 and in 1982 completed his D.D.S.at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. Following an extensive internship in Medical Anesthesia at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1983, Dr. Hishmeh completed a four-year Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medicine, University of Maryland in Baltimore in 1987. He then established

his private oral surgery practice in 1987.

Dr. Hishmeh has been the Chair of Oral Surgery Section within the

Department of Surgery at Medstar Montgomery General Hospital in Olney,Maryland. He is on staff and has trained oral surgery residents at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in

Washington,D.C. and has been on staff at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, Maryland.For more than thirty years, as an active member of his community, Dr. Hishmeh has participated with the Donated Dental Services programs for the indigent and medically compromised residents of Montgomery and Howard Counties.He has traveled with CURE International, treating poor and homeless patients in Honduras and is experienced in treating patients ranging in age from newborn infants to the elderly. Dr. Hishmeh has consistently pursued quality continuing education in his profession and stays current with the state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies in his oral surgery profession.
